Being Catholic in a Polarized Culture

The seminar will discuss how young Catholics can manage the distress of living in a culture of polarized ideas and agendas. This presentation will incorporate Catholic Social Teaching on the dignity of the human person, the principles of solidarity, the principle of subsidiarity, and how to dialogue with friends, family and coworkers on polarized topics. There will also be focus on how young Catholics can stay out of the extremes and live the faith fully.

Andrew Gill is a Deacon Candidate for the Archeparchy of Pittsburgh and serve as alter server at St. Basil’s Parish in Irving TX.

 He is a Texas State Licensed Professional Counselor and Supervisor (LPC-S) and a Texas State Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). He earned his Doctorate of Theocentric Psychotherapy at St. Mark’s Seminary and College and his Masters degree in Counseling from Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio.   He has a private practice offering counseling, neurofeedback therapy, and incorporates Catholic faith into his practice. He has been in practice since 2006.  

He is an executive director of the Theocentric Guild & Outreach.  As part of this non-profit he also is a program director for the Theocentric FertilityCare Center, Theocentric Puppet Theatre, and the SacredPATH program.

Schedule for night:
5:00-6:00 - Confessions
7:00pm - Gather in Upper School Drama Room
7:20pm - Presentation begins
8:45pm - Closing remarks and off to hang out at an unofficial gathering spot. Location TBD.
