In his book Amusing Ourselves to Death the American author and educator Neil Postman argued that television would and has had deleterious effects on education. 35 years later, we have gone beyond mere television. Is education in peril? We will investigate that question by discussing chapter 10 of Postman's Amusing Ourselves To Death.

Dr. Monty De La Torre works special projects and relationship development with SVB Interests. He holds a PhD in philosophy from Australian Catholic University, an M.A. in Theology from the Notre Dame Graduate School of Christendom College, a B.A. in Philosophy from the Catholic University of Leuven, and a B.A. in Music from La Sierra University. He wrote his PhD dissertation on St. Thomas Aquina’s Fourth Way. Dr. De La Torre is passionate about education, intellectual formation, and sharing his knowledge with others.
